Refund and Returns Policy

Overview

Our refund and returns policy lasts 30 days. If 30 days have passed since your purchase, we can’t offer you a full refund or exchange.

To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. It must also be in the original packaging.

Additional non-returnable items:

  • Gift cards
  • Downloadable software products
  • Jewellery or clothing

To complete your return, we require a receipt or proof of purchase.

There are certain situations where only partial refunds are granted:

  • Any item not in its original condition, is damaged or missing parts for reasons not due to our error.
  • Any item that is returned more than 30 days after delivery or booked 
  • Accommodation bookings cancelled after the 30 day full refund cancellation period

Refunds 

Gifts

Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund.

If you are approved, then your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your credit card or original method of payment, within 14 days.

Late or missing refunds

If you haven’t received a refund yet, first check your bank account again.

Then contact your credit card company, it may take some time before your refund is officially posted.

Next contact your bank. There is often some processing time before a refund is posted.

If you’ve done all of this and you still have not received your refund yet, please contact us at craftyboaters@gmail.com.

Sale items

Only regular priced items may be refunded. Sale items cannot be refunded.

Exchanges

We only replace items if they are defective or damaged. If you need to exchange it for the same item, send us an email at craftyboaters@gmail.com and send your item to: Crafty Boaters Skûtsje, Lechlade Marina, Downington, Lechlade, Gloucestershire GL7 3DL.

Gifts

If the item was marked as a gift when purchased and shipped directly to you or to the recipient, you’ll receive a gift credit for the value of your return. Once the returned item is received, a gift certificate will be mailed to you.

If the item wasn’t marked as a gift when purchased, or the gift giver had the order shipped to themselves to give to you later, we will send a refund to the gift giver and they will find out about your return.

Shipping returns

To return your product, you should mail your product to: Crafty Boaters Skûtsje, Lechlade Marina, Downington, Lechlade, Gloucestershire GL7 3DL.

You will be responsible for paying for your own shipping costs for returning your item. Shipping costs are non-refundable. If you receive a refund, the cost of return shipping will be deducted from your refund.

Depending on where you live, the time it may take for your exchanged product to reach you may vary.

If you are returning more expensive items, you may consider using a trackable shipping service or purchasing shipping insurance. We don’t guarantee that we will receive your returned item.

Booking and booking deposit directly through Crafty Boaters

By placing a booking with us Martin & Sarah Lee of Crafty Boaters you (the lead guest) and your booking party (other guests) agree to the following terms and conditions as set out. If you have any questions about booking with us, please contact us before making a booking in the following ways:

To place a booking with us the lead guest must be at least 18 years of age. The maximum number of staying guests per room is illustrated in the room occupancy details in this folder and on our website. Where the person making the booking is different to the lead guest taking up the occupation, the person making the booking may be held responsible for cancellation, non-arrival, and damages set out within. Only the lead guest and the named booking party are allowed to use the property and its facilities, and third visitors are only allowed access at our expressed permission.

 

To secure a stay on the boat we require a 20% deposit at the time of booking. Payments must be ‘cleared funds’ before a booking can be confirmed. The remaining balance needs to be paid on or before 14 days of the arrival date. Payments are only refundable under the conditions set out here within **

 

Payments can be made by digital bank transfer, we do not accept cheques. Any charges raised against us by our bank for handling dishonoured bank transfers or any other payments made to us, must be reimbursed by the lead guest within seven (7) days of any request to do so.

 

All guests agree to respect the privacy and the peace of all neighbours and the owners at all times. We reserve the right to cancel a booking with immediate effect if guests are not honouring this agreement or causing a disturbance/nuisance to other guests, neighbours or owners. This also extends to pets worrying other animals within the marina.

Cancellation, returned deposit & non-arrival

Full refund for cancellations up to 14 days after booking. If you cancel after the first 14 days after the booking is made you will receive 50% refund up to 7 days before check-in. No refund will be given from 7 days before arrival. Guests who need to cancel a booking should contact us as soon as possible at craftyboaters@gmail.com.

If you book 14 days prior to arrival, you will receive 50% refund for a cancellation. If you book 7 days prior to arrival you will not receive any refund if you cancel your booking

Non-arrival guests, who are unable to attend or fail to attend for whatever reason forfeit their monies paid and the full amount for the booking will be due. It is suggested that booking guests take out appropriate holiday/ cancellation insurance where required.

In the rare event we need to cancel your booking with us, please be aware that we cannot be held liable for circumstances beyond our control and that our liability to you is limited to the refund of any payment already made.

However, in the event that you can’t come on the dates you have originally booked we are more than happy to rearrange your booking to a future date, but please bear in mind that swapping from low season to high season would incur the extra charge to reflect the price of a stay in high season. 

 

Use of the boat

The boat is for hire as accommodation only. The boat is not for hire as a self-drive vessel. Guests will only have access to the back cabin as an emergency exit. Guests do not have the right to move the boat manually or under power. We reserve the right to cancel a booking with immediate effect if guests are not honouring this agreement.

 

Number of People on the boat

Only the named guests are allowed on to the marina. Guests are not allowed to bring other people or pets on to the marina or to the boat without prior agreement. If we agree to allow a visitor to the boat and they have a pet with them a £10 cleaning charge will apply.

 

Damages and lost property

We reserve the right to charge the lead guest for any damages caused through the course of a booking by any member of the booking party. This includes breakages, spillages, stains, damage to furniture, fixtures or fittings. Any accidental damages should be reported as soon as possible in order to minimise damage and associated costs. A £30 deposit for the gate key, and boat key is required on arrival. Safe return of these keys to us in person will ensure immediate return of your deposit.

 

Any lost property, if discovered, left behind by guests during a stay will be held for a period of 1 month. While we will make our best efforts to reunite lost property with their owners, we accept no responsibility in replacing lost items and encourage guests to ensure they have all of their belongings before checking-out. We may offer to post lost items of value via recorded delivery at the cost of the property owner, otherwise collection can be arranged.

 

Our right to cancellation

We reserve the right to cancel any booking without compensation, refund or reimbursement if the terms of these conditions are breached.
